About Us

The Mission of Family Promise of Longview is to break the cycle of poverty by helping children experiencing homelessness and their families to achieve long-term financial independence in housing of their own.

This year, more than 1.5 million children in America will experience homelessness.

Families make up about 30% of people experiencing homelessness.

Families are the fastest growing group in the homeless population.

Poverty is a complex problem. Solving it requires solutions that integrate people and community resources. We connect people in need with people who want to help and turn compassion into action.

Through partnerships with caring local church congregations and volunteers, we provide safe shelter, meals, training, and care to help families find gainful employment, become stable in a permanent home, and regain financial independence.

During 2022, Family Promise of Longview helped 87 families who were at risk of homelessness with rent and/or utilities.

This assistance impacted 276 individuals, including 176 children.

Our mission is to help families and children.
