Thank you for helping us help others!

We're so grateful for everyone who helps to support the work we're doing!

COVID presented us with new challenges in 2020. We faced many challenges and changes in the ways that we help families. We're so grateful that we were able to continue our work.

Here's a quick summary of how many families we were able to help last year:

Shelter Jan - June 2020 7 families, 22 people in those families, 14 of them children
Turnabout Program July - Dec 2020 25 families, 77 people in those families, 50 of them children
Case Management   2 families, 5 people in those families, 3 of them children

Thank you so much to everyone who supported Family Promise of Longview through East Texas Giving Day!

You helped us achieve our goal of $15,000 for helping families!

We're so grateful for the support of our community. Special thanks to the Zonta Club of Longview for a $5,000 grant to help 5 single mothers with their rent and utilities and to BancorpSouth for a $2,000 grant to help 2 families with rent and utilities.

We have a new name!

Family Promise of Longview

We still espouse the values of our former name: Longview Interfaith Hospitality Network

  • We still focus on caring for children and families experiencing homelessness in our local community.
  • We still partner with many local churches.
  • We are still a network of caring, compassionate people, providing hospitality and help.

Our new name says even more: we promise to do everything we can to achieve the goals in our Mission Statement:

The Mission of Family Promise of Longview is to break the cycle of poverty
by helping children experiencing homelessness and their families
to achieve long-term financial independence in housing of their own.

We have always been part of the Family Promise network. Our new name makes that affiliation even more apparent.

Thank you to all of the caring people who volunteer and donate to help us achieve our Mission. If you are not part of this network, now is a great time to join us!
